Yugi is the main character (the heart) of the show. He is kind-hearted like Tea. Probably that's why Tea likes him in the first place. He is one of the people who owns a millennium item. His is the Millennium Puzzle. The person inside the Millennium Puzzle is Yami, the king of Egypt years ago. He and Yugi have the same looks almost. Yami is more serious though. Yugi looks a lot kinder.

Yugi protects his friends (or tries to) when they're in trouble. In one of the earlier episodes, he tried to help Joey and Tristan with the bully. He wasn't as strong as the person who was trying to hurt Joey and Tristan though (*-*). Then Yami took his place and fought the guy in a duel with Duel Monsters. Later they became friends.

Yugi and Tea met (in anime, I have no clue how they met in the manga) in a restuarant. Tea was a waitress there. She was there because she needed money to get dance lessons so became a waitress there. She was shocked to see Yugi and Joey when they arrived and she started to get mad at them. Later when Yugi helped her with a guy, she thanked him and they became friends.

Original Name: Jounouchi Katsuya

Joey is the person who wants to cure his sister (the courage). His sister was going to be blind if she didn't get the operation for her eyes. Sadly, the Wheeler family didn't have enough money. Plus their parents divorced so that made it worst. He is a very good friend. He helps his friends a lot too when they're in danger.

Joey and Tristan are like brothers (the battle guards). Tristan helps Joey as much as possible whenever Joey is in danger. But, Joey doesn't like that. At the end, though, he thinks Tristan is a very good friend.

Like I said, Joey and Yugi met Tea in the same place so I don't need to explain that. Joey is a very protective brother to Serenity in the later series. It's funny how Joey reacted to Tristan and Serenity together. Tristan lied about teaching Joey all about dueling to Serenity. Haha.

Dubbed Name: Tristan Taylor

Original Name: Honda Hiroto

Tristan is a very good friend to Joey (the sprit). He has a strong and kind heart. He likes Joey's sister. In this other serie, he likes another girl named Miho.

Tristan is my favorite guy character. Probably because he looks good...(^^). He likes a lot of girls.

I'm not so sure how he and Tea met but I'm assuming it's somewhere after Yugi and Joey met her. In the Duelist Kingdom serie, they work together well. In the other series, Tristan is leaning more to Duke and Serenity than to Tea or Joey.

Dubbed Name: Mai Valentine

Original Name: Kujaku Mai

Mai is a very mean girl when they first met her. She likes to duel people and get the prize money herself. But when Yugi helped her get her star chips back from this other guy, her heart grew bigger. At the end, she became friends with them too.

Mai is nice when she knows the person, if not, she's mean, lol. She seems to really like Joey...

Mai and Tea met when she met Yugi and co. They rarely talk but they're still friends.

Dubbed Name: Mokuba Kaiba

Original Name: Kaiba Mokuba

Mokuba is Kaiba (Seto)'s little brother. He cares deeply for him and vice versa. Their parents died when they were really young. Mokuba is outgoing. Whenever his brother is in trouble or he is, he'd always ask Yugi and co. to help.

Mokuba is different from his brother, Kaiba. Kaiba seems all mean and tough while his brother is outgoing and likes to meet new friends. Kaiba has no friends...

Dubbed Name: Serenity Wheeler

Original Name: Jounouchi Shizuka

Serenity is Joey's younger sister. She needed an eye operation in the beginning, Joey, as a good brother, was able to get the money for her (thanks to Yugi) so she got the operation and could see clearly again. She is very nice and she looks up to her brother.

Serenity has a lot of guys going after her, Tristan and Duke, hehe. Though, I think she only thinks of them as friends, and nothing more.

Original Name: Otogi Ryuuji

He is creator of a game called Dungeon Dice Monsters. He challenged Yugi in a duel and he lost in his own game. Later he turned nice.

He jouneys with Yugi and the gang in the later series. He likes Serenity.

Dubbed Name: Ishizu Ishtar

Original Name: Ishtar Isis

Isis is the one who owns the millennium neckless. She gets to see what happens in the future before anyone else could experience the future. The neckless was never wrong...at least not until Kaiba and her fought in a battle.

She becomes friends with the group after the battle with Kaiba. She gives Yugi the millennium neckless and prayed for him to win Marik so her true brother would be back.

Dubbed Name: Bakura

Original Name: Bakura Ryou

Bakura owns a millennium item too. His father gave it to him and told him that he was destined to have it. Inside the item lives a thief. The thief is named "Yami Bakura" (or Bakura in the subbed because Ryou is the good guy). Yugi and co. kept trying to throw the ring anyway but it kept coming back.

Bakura is a good friend except when he turns into his yami. Yugi and co. can almost never tell by looking at him if he was the yami or the hikari.

Dubbed Name: Rebecca Hawkins

Original Name: Rebecca Hawkins

Rebecca is a stubborn little girl when she first met up with Yugi and the gang. She was from a rich family and her grand pa knew Yugi's grand pa. At first she thought that Yugi's grand pa stole one her grand pa's cards but it ended up to be a mistake.

After learning her mistake, she became friends with Yugi and the gang. Yugi also gave her a card, a friendship card. In the later series, she started to like Yugi and Tea gets jealous. ^_^

Dubbed Name: Mako Tsunami

Oringinal Name: Kajiki Ryouta

Mako is the king of the water, lol. His father disappeared in the ocean one day. He handed Mako a card and Mako kept that card for a very time. He was always in the ocean trying to find his father and he said would never give up. Later on, though, he gave the card to Yugi because Yugi won it. Yugi insisted that he have his card back but Mako declined and said his father will always remain in his heart so he didn't need it anymore.

He had little or no interaction with Tea alone but they're still friends. They met when Mako was down in the water one day, Joey went to steal some food and it ended up to be Mako's. ^_^;;
